Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu

Karan Johar seems to have hit a goldmine as he churns out one blockbuster after another!

Although 2012 started off on a low note in Box Collections overall, the year suddenly seems to have warmed up to Karan Johar’s flicks. Dharma Productions garnered approx Rs. 21 Crore in just a span of two weeks and a whopping Rs 42.17 Crores nett at the world-wide Box Office in its opening week with ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’.

‘EMAET’ has accumulated over Rs. 5 Crores from the United States alone; Rs. 3.4 Crores in England, Rs. 82 Lakhs in Australia; Rs. 22 Lakhs in New Zealand and Rs 9 Lakhs in Fiji.

Two hit films back-to-back – although in stark contrast with regards to storylines, acting and the works; but both were very successful.

Agneepath vs Agneepath

For those of you who have lived by the smoldering towering persona of Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Agneepath’, you might find it hard to digest the chocolate boy look of Hrithik Roshan’s characterization of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the 2012 remake. But that’s where the differentiation ends. The 2012 remake of ‘Agneepath’’s rich visualization is a true artistic work imitating the 1990 original in a flattering style; evocating memories of yore, but at the same time a fascinating and riveting portrayal of a troubled young man fighting his inner demons – all without indulging in longwinded, dramatic and verbose dialogues that was the theme of every Amitabh Bachchan movie in the 90s.

To fill in the shoes of the ‘angry young man’ was not an easy task, even for someone as talented as Hrithik, but the outcome has definitely been great. Although you might want to compare every scene to the old one, Karan Malhotra’s ‘Agneepath’ 2.0 is as fresh as it can get.

Brilliant portrayals of seedy villains are skillfully impersonated by Rishi Kapoor as Rauf Lala and Sanjay Dutt as Kancha Cheena. If there was any role that could break the adorable baby-faced cliché of Rishi Kapoor, this is it. Rishi Kapoor has not only managed to depict a splendid portrayal of a morally deviant and scheming human trafficker but with this cast has opened a whole new dimension in his repertoire of acting skills and what he can now play in the future.

Dubbing Artists

Ever thought of earning money by lending your voice? Well this is the job profile of Dubbing Artists. They re-record lines spoken during the shooting of the movies and replace the voices of the actors with their own. This process is known as Dubbing and holds significant importance to the post-production phase.

Do you recognize Mona Ghosh Shetty or Viraj Adhav? You probably won’t recognize them through their pics but you are definitely familiar with their voices.  Mona Ghosh Shetty was the voice for beautiful Nargis Fakhri in the movie ‘Rockstar’. She has also dubbed for actress like Rani Mukherjee in ‘Ghulam’, Ameesha Patel in ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’, Bipasha Basu in ‘Raaz’ & ‘Jism’, Katrina Kaif in ‘Sarkar’ & ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’.

Viraj Adhav has lent his voice to John Abraham in ‘Jism’, Ashmit Patel in ‘Murder’ & Upen Patel in ’36 China Town’. Filmmakers believe that it is easier and can save time if they use services of a professional dubbing artist instead of training the actor for perfect dialogue delivery.
