Ayesha Takia, born in a Gujrati family, started her career with Shahid Kapoor in the “I am a Complan Girl” ad. After that she also appeared in a couple of music videos before signing a contract for the Bollywod movie ‘Socha Na Tha’ (2004). However, the making of ‘Socha Na Tha’ got delayed and ‘Tarzaan – The Wonder Car’ (2004) became Ayesha’s first movie to get released on the silver screen. She also won the Filmfare ‘Best Debut Award’ for her performance in the film.
Ayesha’s performance in ‘Dor’ (2006) was critically acclaimed and won her the ‘Zee Cine Critics Award’. Thereafter she gave a string of unsuccessful movies before appearing in the lead role for the Bollywood Blockbuster ‘Wanted’ (2009) which went to fetch an estimated gross of Rs. 91 Cr.
Her next venture in Bollywood will be ‘Mad Dad’ which will release in 2012. The movie will be directed by Revathy S Verma and the male lead will be played by Naseeruddin Shah.
